Will a nVidia GPU increase my Render Times?

I'm still new to Daz Studio and all the ins and outs. I'm looking at building a new computer and was just curious about a dedicated graphics card. If I buy a nVidia GPU will it help with renders and processing time or will any dedicated GPU work? I'm currently running a Mac mini with 16gb RAM and its soldered Intel Iris Graphics. I'm looking at going up to a 32gb RAM or 64gb RAM PC/Workstation and find myself in uncharted territory. Any advice would be appreciated.

    I assume you mean decrease? Yes, as long as the scene fits into the card's memory an nVidia GPU (of recent vintage) will help with render speed. Iray uses CUDA and, as far as I know, only nVidia chips support that so AMD, Intel, etc. won't be used.
