File Folder Order

Wanting to start a fresh install, I deleted everything that I could from my computer and re-installed everything. Now when I try to load anything from the Smart Window it says that the file could not be found or doesn't exist. I think the problem is in the order of my files or their location within Daz. I can open characters by clicking on them in the folder (they open in Daz). HELP?

Is All Users/Documents the same as Shared Documents? I don't have XP anymore so I can't check.

Okay, I'm getting close to a fix... I opened Daz, went into Content Library, Content DB Maintenance, Re-Import Metadata. Now I have two choices for each item in smart content. One works, one doesn't! What folder do I need to delete/move? The All Users (Shared Documents) seems to be the working one. The Local User (Kids Documents) has a Daz 3D Folder but it's content folders are empty. ?
The Daz 3D folder isn't a content diectory - although you should be able to see My Daz 3d Library\Presets\Caracaters under it in the Content Library pane. You should have the My Daz connect Library selected as the Daz Connect directory if you use it, and none any of the folders containing it selected as content directories (having one content directory inside another can cause issues with saved files).

Another question. (Sorry, I'm new!). I purchased the Jolina Hair product and can't get the Style Buttons to work. What am I doing wrong?
According to the pane you have no selection - you need to have the hair loaded and selected, then those presets will quickly apply one or more morphs.
Yeah, I figured it out. Thanks for all your help. I'm sure you're very busy with 33,000+ posts! When I try to render any model with hair AND lights my system crashes. Most likely due to my crappy computer! I've saved a crash log. Again, Thank YOU!
How much RAM do you have? And, if this is rendering with Iray, how much RAM does the video card have?
One more time, Richard. I uninstalled everything that I could and tried to reinstall everything. All of the downloads seem to install without a hitch except for the "DAZ Studio 4.5+ 32-bit" file. When I select the gear icon to get to the application menu to set a path for it, the image on the right (Program Files), is my choices for the path. Why three DAZ 3D folders? Ive tried to delete them but it will not allow me to. What path should I choose for the said file? Sorry to be such a pain in the ass. Thanks in advance!

OK, never mind. I uninstalled through the uninstallers and was able to "clean" my system. Went back and installed everything again. It's working now! Go help someone else for now! Thanks, Man!
Applications isntall to the path (usually Program Files/Program Files (x86)) set in the Isntall tab - the Applications tab is to tell DIM which applications are isntalled, and where, for adding plug-ins and other things that go to the application folder. So if you had 64 bit and 32 bit versions of both the release and public beta builds you might end up with four entries for DS.
