Files Installed By DMI, not responding

What am I doing wrong? DMI installed products.  They show as installed.  However when I try to merge into the scene notining happens except for the appearance of manipulator.  Nothing else appears. For instance: I have Platinum Coctail. I  think they are multiple colors available.  The only color I can get is red. I purchased the Cocktail Dress, which says Platinum is required.  I try to merge a dress and I get nothing.  I can't figure it out!  I'm seeing RED.

    Which add-on did you purchase?

    Thank you for the response.

I purchased "Uptown Platinum Cocktail Dress"; "Pumps 3 for Genesis 3 Female";"Platinum Party"; and "Luxury Lace Cocktail Dress."  I have the same problems with underwear that I purchased.  I can only get what may be basic clothing.

    The steps are

    • Load the dress
    • Make sure the dress is selected
    • Double-click the desired material setting

Is that what you are doing? It's the middle step that's most likely to catch you out - when the dress is fitted to the human figure, clicking on most parts of the dress will select the wearer isntead (you can right-click or use the Scene pane to select the dress)

I assume the info you provided would work for everything that   that requires a basie asset.  I have the Heartbreaker Hair  and once I load the "black" hair, I can't change the coloor in materials. Please tell me what I shoould do.  I'm desperately trying to learn this softwear, but there are issues that frustrate

That doesn't appear to have any special requirements, judging by the product page - are you sure you have the hair itself selected, and are using presets for that hair?

hair selected, yes: presets? I'm not sure where that is found? Being a novice is embrassing.

I find it easiest to work with a view that shows me the related files - either the products tab of Smart Content, or the actual folder structure under Daz Studio Formats in the Content Library pane (the latter can be especially useful with more complex products, where certain options need to be applied after the base settings). If you right-click on an item in a content pane you should get a Show Asset in sub-menu that will let you find the item in another view or pane.
