Saving to JPG

Could someone please help me? I'm pretty new to DAZ and may be trying to run before I can walk so to speak for which I apologise. I have successfully created my first 'Little Soldier' and would like to save the image as a printable JPG so that I can email it to my Son. How do I save as a JPG please?
Thank you and have a nice day.
Robert.

You need to render then set the image format to save to when the render is done.
You can also use File>Save Last Render once the render is done/stopped, even if the render window has been closed.
If possible, use the .png format instead, as it does not introduce compression artifacts as .jpg does. I would be surprised indeed if your son could not view .png just as easily as .jpg.
Thank you for your time Ostadan, jestmart and Richard, very helpful. I think it's the renderring bit that I haven't done.
This can get a bit tricky, as not all "printables" are alike. Do you know how big the printed image is going to be, and how many pixels/inch it should be for best results on the printer? DAZ|Studio doesn't measure render sizes in physical dimensions, only in pixel dimensions, which you set in the Render Settings pane.
Hey Spotted Kitty - how yuh doin'? Thanks for the comment, very helpful, it's made me think somewhat. I had not considered the pixel issue at all. I have managed to save as a JPG and the picture came out at about half A4 which is OK for me however, you've made me think that I must look into the pixel issue more closely and try to understand it. What I am concerned about is the fact that the print has a black background, that surprised me, I need to work out how to change that. I'm guessing I must learn to build a background for my figures. I am trying to illustrate a story about a little soldier.
Another issue for me is the User Guide which comes with DAZ 4.9. The instructions seem to be slightly different to the actual interface of the version I have but I have managed to sort something out.
Glad to note you are a Terry Pratchett fan.
Take care and have a nice day.
Do you have the figure in the scene with no surrounding background? One thing you can do is make sure you have the background feature turned off (on the Environment pane, make sure the Type at the top is set to None) and export the final render as a .png image. This makes the image background "invisible" when it's pulled into a printing program. Which brings up another consideration; which program is being used for printing the illustrated story pages? There are things you can do to make the process easier, and some hidden gotchas that can bite you in the anatomy if you don't know about them.
Hi SpottedKitty - good morning.
Yes I do but I put it all down to a lack of experience at the moment. I am somewhat tied up today but wanted to answer your post before I go out. I will re-visit your comments tomorrow (Monday) and try to get to grips with your advice. Thank you for your kind patience.
Have a nice day.
I meant also to ask where you are in the world? I'm in France but I'm English.
