Anyone know how to use Actual Tears?

This product includes documentation which says that you need to create a distant light, set it to specular only, and "angle it til you get the desired results"

I've wasted tons of time on this now, I can't get any result even remotely similar to the advertised possibility. The tears don't look liquid, and aren't reflective. Just a vaguely discolored spot really. I'm wondering if I need to change other light settings, or what?

Are you rendering in 3Delight or Iray? The specular-only light is a 3Delight thing.

Oh I see. I'm using iray actually. So is this just an outdated product then? Or is there a way to get good results in iray?

There have, I think, been a few threads on this set in Iray - I can't recall that anyone was able to get it working directly.

Maybe you can try this, manually apply the iray water or glass shader on the tears. Bump up the 'thickness', forgot the exact path, its the same menu as the smoothing modifier you apply on figures.
