Very slow load time for Genesis 3

I have found that lately the Genesis 3 Female figure takes WAY longer than Genesis, G2F and G3M. It takes about 1 minute to load as opposed to the 10 seconds I am used to with the other figures which all have similar amount of morphs and characters installed. I have checked the log after loading G3F into the scene and there is no indication of any errors or bottlenecks. No missing files or anything liek that. Any theories?

Are these the Daz figure presets or files you saved yourself?

No presets, simply the base figures compared. Genesis 3 takes far far longer.

The base figure is a character preset, but that isn't important. There was an issue with too much information being added (so morphs that were zeroed were still referred to in the file) which could slow loading, but I don't think that would affect the base  -still, you could try saving a new character prset and see if that loads more quickly than the oen from Daz.

Richard, you refer to the issue in past tense (there was an issue). Does that mean that the problem has been fixed? Do you know what release has the fix, or is it a future release that will have the fix?

Yes, sorry - that's why I suggested saving a new preset. I think it was in 4.9.3.166 as far as releases builds are concerned, not sure how many betas had it.

Does that mean that any character preset saved before 4.9.3.166 might have a problem and need to be resaved? If so, does that include characters sold in the Daz Store?

I'm not sure how widespread the issue was - I thought it was mainly, or even solely, scene files which is why I was a little tentative.

    Hmm. FWIW, I just timed opening G3F (4.9.3.166, Win 7 64, 32GB). Character appeared after 48.48 seconds.

I saved the base G3F as a character preset and cleared the character from the scene.

I then loaded the character preset in 25.25 seconds.

    More tests I think.

    EDIT:

Another test. I loaded FWSA Mable (bradd new figure) in 20.70 seconds

    Mika 7 20.8 seconds, Mei Lin 7 19.70 sec, Victoria 7 20.08 sec
