Downloading files from renderosity
Dumb question, but I've been trying to download zip files from Renderosity, and they keep disappearing into someplace called Appdate. Can anyone tell me where I should be downloading them so they show up in DAZlibrary?
FYI, this wouldn't be a problem if you guys made a boxing glove set, hint hint!

You need to change the destination for downloads in your browser - possibly to a folder on your desktop, or the one called Downloads in your user account.
Then unzip them and manually place the files where they'd need to go.
To find what you have already downloaded, you have to "show hidden folders" and go to your user account and check the AppData folder.
I've seen boxing gloves for sale here but ? where atm.
Have you told it to "Save" the file or is the download set to "Open"?
Someone ask for boxing gloves? Check them out here --> http://www.daz3d.com/shop/fm-fight-club-clothing
Granted they're practice gloves rather than kind you would wear in an actual fight in the ring.
"unzip them and manually place the files where they’d need to go."
Yes, but I'm unsure exactly where they need to go. I'm looking for a tree, I think.
And I've seen those "practice gloves", and they're not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the actual ring gloves.
If the top-level folder is named "Runtime", merge it with the Runtime folder in "My Library".
If the top-level folder is named "Content", merge what's UNDERNEATH "Content" with the folders underneath "My Library".
Am I supposed to put it in 'Documents'? I've been trying to unzip the whole document into DAZ 3D,\documents\runtime\runtime and there I run into a brick wall. I've also tried document\studio\runtime\my library\ and there I run into another wall. Can someone PLEASE just give me a sample tree to download it into?
Do not Download the Zip file to any of those locations. Download to a temp folder, then use a UNZIP (Win 7 has one built in) to UnZip the downloaded zip file. After the File is UnZipped open the Folder it creates and then you Drop the RUNTIME folder (if its a poser only type file) into your My Library Folder, it Should then give an option to MERGE the two Runtimes into one larger Runtime. Tell it OKay or Yes.
I've done all that, and it's not showing up. When I search the system, it says it's there in My Library, but when I start up DAZ, it's nowhere to be seen. And the Search function in DAZ doesn't show it at all. Everything says it should be working, but DAZ can't find it. If it wasn't for a friend of mine using it, I'd say Renderosity was incompatible w/ DAZ, but he swears it works.
Open the Content Library Tab, then look in your POSER Formats section. Older files will not show in Smart Content.
It's not in there either, or in Categories.
This should be the proper full path. Documents/DAZ3D/Studio/My Library/
The UnZip should place the files inside the existing Runtime for you.
YES, YES IT FINALLY WORKS THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Your more than welcome, happy rendering.
Where do I download my downloads? I see them listed. Status: Download Pending.....but no way to download them.
As this is a thread about Renderosity downloads I would suggest that you ask over there if you are talking about Rendo downloads..
However if you are asking about DAZ 3D downloads, then I will split this post out from the 3 year old thread that you have added it to, and make it into a new thread for you
